Troubleshooting
Fixes for common StreamNook problems.
Most issues clear up with a stream reload or a restart. If something is stuck, work down this list.
A stream is buffering or stuttering
- Press
Rto restart the stream, or use the reload button on the player. - Lower the quality from the gear menu.
- In Settings, Player, set Low Latency Target Mode to Balanced or Quality, and raise the live edge gap so there is more buffer.
- Open the gear menu's Stats to check dropped frames and bandwidth.
Wrong account perks, or ads when you expect none
If your subscriber or Turbo benefits are not applying, the app may be using a different account's session. Switch to the correct account in Settings, Profile, or sign out and back in. Switching accounts resets cached entitlements, which usually fixes it.
A cosmetic or unlock did not appear
Unlocks normally land within a few seconds of a contribution. If one is missing:
- Make sure you are signed in to the account you contributed on.
- Alt-tab away and back to the app, which prompts it to re-check your entitlements.
- Restart the app.
Drops are not earning
- Confirm Drops are connected. Open the Drops center (
Ctrl+Shift+D); if it asks you to sign in, complete the one-time Drops sign-in. - Progress only counts while the video is playing on an eligible channel. Make sure the stream is not paused.
- Some campaigns only count on specific channels.

Emotes look low quality or are missing
- Open Settings, Cache and clear the cache, then reopen the channel so emotes re-download.
- Adjust emote scale in Settings, Chat if they are too small or large.
The app looks wrong after a theme change
Reset to a built-in theme in Settings, Theme. If glass panels are hard to read, raise or lower glass transparency in the same tab.
Reset without losing everything
Before any larger reset, export your settings from Settings, Backup so you can restore them. Your cosmetics, rank, and tenure are tied to your Twitch account, so they return when you sign back in even after a reinstall.

- Check Settings, What's New to confirm you are on the latest version. If an update button is showing at the top of the window, grab the newest build. See Installation.
