Get Started
First Launch
Sign in with Twitch, finish the setup wizard, and enable Drops.
The first time you open StreamNook, a setup wizard helps you sign in and set a few preferences. You can change everything later in Settings.
Sign in with Twitch
Start sign-in
Click Sign in in the app. StreamNook opens Twitch's official login page so you authorize the app directly with Twitch. StreamNook never sees your password.
Authorize
Log in on Twitch and approve access. The window returns to StreamNook automatically.
You are in
Your avatar, follows, and entitlements load. Signed-in features such as following, subscribing, chat, Drops, and channel points are now available.
Being signed in unlocks:
- Watching with your account, so subscriber and Turbo benefits apply.
- Sending chat, following, and subscribing from inside the app.
- Twitch Drops and channel point collection.
- Your StreamNook profile, rank, and cosmetics.
Multiple accounts
You can link more than one Twitch account and switch between them.
- Add an account: open the profile section at the top of Settings and add another account. Each account signs in through Twitch the same way.
- Switch accounts: pick the account you want to make active. The app rebuilds your chat identity, follows, and entitlements for that account.
- Sign out: signing out of the active account promotes another linked account if you have one, otherwise it returns you to the signed-out state.
Tip
Switching accounts also resets account-specific things like Turbo and subscription status, so an alt account never inherits your main account's perks by mistake.
Enable Twitch Drops
Drops use a separate Twitch sign-in from your main login. This is a one-time step.
Open Drops
Click the gift icon in the title bar, or press Ctrl+Shift+D.
Start the device sign-in
StreamNook shows a short code and a Twitch link. Open the link, enter the code, and approve.
Done
Once approved, StreamNook tracks and claims Drops in the background while you watch. See Drops for the full workflow.
The setup wizard
The wizard runs only on first launch and covers:
- Twitch sign-in, as above.
- A few starting preferences for the player, chat, and theme.
- An optional plugin step, in case you want to add an add-on right away.
You can skip any optional step and revisit it later. Once finished, the wizard does not appear again. Everything it sets is editable in Settings.
